Erich and Eleanor F. Spieler, 86 and 82 respectively, of Lancashire Terrace in Lancaster, entered together into their eternal rest on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in Lancaster. They had shared in 59 years of marriage together this past July 4th. Erich was born in Schlesien, Germany, the son of the late Paul and Erna Tischer Spieler, while Eleanor was born in New York City, NY, to the late Emil and Frieda Jacob Schneider. Eleanor took care of Erich and was a homemaker, while he worked as a machinist and maintenance person for the Bulova Corporation and ITT. They were very family oriented and enjoyed traveling with family members over the years and taking bus trips. Erich was very involved with the activities at Lancashire Hall, where he loved to play and call bingo. Erich is survived by his 2 sisters, Edeltraut Maresca of New York and Edith Raupach of Germany. Both Erich and Eleanor are survived by many loving nieces and nephews, who were very fond of them. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 1-2PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with Erich and Eleanor's' Funeral Service to follow at 2PM with the Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Interment will be in Landis Valley Mennonite Cemetery.
