Encarnacion Jose Sanchez, 93, of West Earl Township, PA, died at Lancashire Hall on Monday, February 2, 2016. He was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. Jose was married to the late Mary Larue E. Schwanger Sanchez for over 50 years before her death in 2005.

Jose first worked as a migrant farm worker, next as a cook for the Penn Harris Hotel & Convention Center in Harrisburg and then for Victor F. Weaver, New Holland for 20 years. Later in life, Jose and Mary sold items at area flea markets.

He was an avid cook and he enjoyed socializing with the neighbors and their children. Jose was lovingly referred to as "Pop". Jose was of the Catholic Faith.

Jose is survived by his son Sydney J. Barnette, husband of Liana (Barletta) and their son Bailey of Ephrata; and his sisters Marcela & Luz Velez-Sanchez of Puerto Rico and his cousin Emilia Marcano Sanchez of Orlando FL.

A visitation will take place from 10 to 11am, followed by the Christian Prayer Service at 11 am with Rev. David Danneker officiating on Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to Catholic Charities, 4800 Union Deposit Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111-3710.
