Emily Rose Van Pelt, 22, of Marietta, passed on February 12, 2020 at UPMC Lititz. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Robert Van Pelt and Amy Shoop.

If you knew Emily, you knew that she was a shining star. She had an incredible personality and the biggest and brightest smile. An adventurous spirit, Emily enjoyed hiking and spending time by the river where she would walk with her dog, collect rocks, and go fishing with her friends and family. Care-free and happy, a day with Emily would be full of fun and lots of giggles.

She was loved by everyone, especially by those who were lucky to call her family and friends. Always one to put others before herself, Emily was the perfect mixture of wild and goofy and kind and nurturing.

She will be dearly missed by her parents; Amy Shoop and Robert Van Pelt, her brother, Jake Van Pelt, aunts and uncle; Michelle Zeamer, Janell Tomlinson, and Donald Van Pelt Jr., her grandparents; Sydney and Edward Shoop and Donald and Faye Van Pelt, and her dog, Delilah.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 23, at Bainbridge Inn located at 5 N Front St, Bainbridge, PA 17502. The gathering will begin at 1:00pm and all are welcome.
