Emily T. Hess, 98, widow of the late Arthur F. Hess and daughter of the late John and Florence (Wilkinson) Turner of New Castle, PA, died of natural causes on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Pleasant View Retirement Community. She previously lived in Lancaster.

She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church for many years. After graduating from Ohio Wesley University, Emily earned a Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and then taught in Kinsman, OH, next in Warwick Township and retired from Manheim Township. She also worked several years as a tour guide for Rutt's Tours and then Brunswick Tours.

Besides belonging to various teachers' organizations as well as a Senior citizens group, she also belonged to the former Alta White Shrine, Amaranth, and she was Past Matron of Lititz Springs Chapter #499 Order of The Eastern Star.

Emily is survived by her two sons, Delbert E. Hess, husband of Jane and John A. Hess, husband of Jane; four grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

By Emily's request there will be no viewing and burial in Rothsville Lutheran Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 500 E. Roseville Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601.
