Emilia Vargas Galarza, 100, of Lancaster, passed peacefully away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at Conestoga View Nursing Home. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Vargas and Julia Galarza.

Emilia was a devout Catholic. She attended services at Conestoga View Nursing Home while she was a resident. Emilia was a talented seamstress. She loved to dance and enjoyed making new friends. She was a phenomenal cook and an entrepreneur. Mostly Emilia cherished spending time with her family, especially. Her dedication to her faith and family will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Emilia is survived by her children: Jorge Alberto Collazo (Vivian) of Lancaster, Jose Raphael Collazo (Martha) of Lancaster and Rosa Iris Rivera Vargas (Gary) of Atlanta, GA, Rufina Vargas of Boston, MA and Elisa Vargas of Ponce, Puerto Rico; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 32 great great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by an infant daughter and 5 siblings.

Interment will be held privately at Funeraria Shalom Memorial in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
