Elvin E. Fuhrer, 84, of Lititz, PA, passed away on April 3, 2015 unexpectedly at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Casper and Anna (Ficher) Fuhrer. Elvin was the husband of Carolyn (McComsey) Fuhrer. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army. Elvin retired after 30 years of service as a carpenter from Sherman & Walton. He enjoyed traveling and playing Pinochle. Surviving in addition to his wife, Carolyn, Elvin is survived by 4 daughters: Barbara Mongeau, wife of Ed, of Galeton, PA, Diane M. Potts of Rock Hill, SC, wife of Charles, of Sawyer, MI, Cheri Hess, wife of Ben, of Ephrata, PA, and Eileen Csallner, wife of Tony, of Port St. John, FL; a son, Dale Fuhrer of Lancaster, PA; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Clark; 3 step-daughters: Colleen Aument of Millersville, PA, Christine Milliron, wife of John, of Gap, PA, Cathleen Wenger, wife of Gregory, of Reinholds, PA; a step-son, Timothy Lehman of Radford, VA. Elvin is preceded in death by 4 siblings: Walter, Harold, Helen and Mary. A visitation will be held from 3-4 PM with a Memorial Service to follow on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
