Elizabeth A. Burkman, 92, of Lancaster passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013. Born in Lancaster, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Rietsche) Sprout. Elizabeth was employed as a licensed practical nurse by St. Joseph Hospital for more than 20 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Rosemary Harding, of Lancaster, and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Miller, and brothers, William Sprout and Howard Sprout, Jr. A graveside service at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
