Obituary

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Duschl, 82, of St. Anne's Retirement Community, Columbia, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at St. Anne's Retirement Community surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Max Mitterer and Kathryn Wolf. She was the loving wife of the late Anthony F. "Tony" Duschl who passed away in 2006.

Betty was a 1949 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. She was a life- long member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lancaster and more recently St. John Neumann. A homemaker most of her life, she was devoted to raising her children and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Betty was a member of the Lancaster Liederkranz and volunteered at the American Heart Association. She also enjoyed cards, bowling, cooking, antiques and participating in bingo at St. Anne's.

She is survived by her children, Barbara L. Bisking, of San Antonio, TX, Susan M. Charles, wife of Luke of Holtwood, Robert A. Duschl, husband of Betty A. of Lititz, Kathryn F. Smith, of Landisville, Jodi L. Martin, wife of Lee, of Manheim, and David J. Duschl, husband of Beate, of Lancaster. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; Pamela, Kevin, Amanda, Lisa Marie, Eric, Todd, Kurt, Matthew, Ryan, Brittany, Corey, Thomas, Abigail, Daniel, Michael; 9 great-grandchildren; Alexis, Joshua, Trey, Mykaylah, Blake, Mallory Grace, Zachary, Katerina, Joclyn.  Four siblings, Richard Mitterer, of TX, Gerald Mitterer, of Lancaster, Diane Flory, of Pittsburgh, Jacques T. Baker, Jr of MD and her beloved aunt, Elsie Horn of St. Anne's.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Friday, March 8, 2013 from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St, Lancaster, PA 17602 with Rev. Daniel E. Mitzel as Celebrant. A viewing will be from 7-9PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 8:45PM on Thursday in the Chapel at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 and a viewing again at the church from 10-11AM on Friday. Interment at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster.
