Eleanor R. Culik (nee Clauss), age 97, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2020 at the Mennonite Home in Lancaster, PA.

Her loving husband, Rudolf (Rudy) preceded her in death in 1993.

Eleanor was born on May 29, 1922 on a small farm in Coitsville, Ohio and raised in Michigan. She received a B.S. degree from Marygrove College in Detroit, MI and a M.A. degree from the Teachers College, Columbia University. Her concentration was in the field of textiles. She taught at Michigan State University, where she met her future husband, and at Ohio State University. She later received a M.El.Ed degree from West Chester State University in West Chester, PA and taught for several years at the Greenwood Elementary School in Kennett Square, PA. Eleanor was truly an advocate for education, for children, and for the less fortunate. She was also an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress who created and gifted many beautiful quilts.

She is survived by her children Anne Dy (David Kerlin), Jerry (Martina), Phil (Mary Anne), Martin (Kathy), Michael (De), Mark (Wellingda), Julie (DJ) Reyes, 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Frank (Mary Jean) and Tom (Joan) and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sisters and 1 brother.
