IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eileen J.
Meyle
August 22, 2022
Eileen J. Meyle of Lititz was a devout Catholic and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She left this world peacefully on August 22, 2022, at the age of 88.
Eileen was born to William and Beatrice (Tait) Foley on June 5, 1934, in Ramapo, NY. She spent most of her childhood in Drexel Hill, PA which she remembered fondly. She often told stories about driving around town in her convertible, admittedly too fast, a habit that lasted well into her adult years. After high school, she became a wife and a mother before settling on a career in nursing. She spent most of her career as a private duty nurse, providing care for patients in their homes.
Eileen was always full of life and adventure. She loved treasure hunting, whether it be on the beach with her metal detector or as part of a radio contest. She loved murder mysteries and could often be found having coffee at the kitchen table ready to break down all the facts of the story with her family. She was unbeatable at Trivia Pursuit. She loved food and could be talked into almost anything if the promise of a snack was involved. Most of all, she loved her family and remained surrounded by them until the end.
Eileen is survived by her children: Virginia Markiewicz, Eugene Meyle (Galina), Elizabeth Stineman (Mike), Robert Meyle (Jessica), Eileen Callahan (James), and her oldest grandchild, Julie Roth (Jeff) who she lovingly referred to as her eighth child. In addition, she is survived by her many grandchildren, great0grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who all loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, her sister, and her two daughters: Suzanne Scott and Jacqueline Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 26, 2022, at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will follow in Witness Park, Lititz.
