Edythe Heisey, 95, of Elizabethtown passed away on November 14, 2018, after a period of decline. Born in West Donegal Township, she was the daughter of Reuben and Mary (Shireman) Kendig. She was the wife of J. Richard Heisey, who died in 1995. A clerical worker, she retired in 1988 from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg. Previously, she worked in the offices of the Gerberich Payne Shoe Factory in Mount Joy and the Hestico Dress Factory in Elizabethtown. Since 1947, she was a member of Saint Paul's United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, where she was active in Sunday School, United Methodist Women, the kitchen committee, and sewing. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crafts, and travel. Surviving are a sister, Mary Frey of Avoca, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, J. Maurice Kendig, Ray S. Kendig, Wilbur R. Kendig, and a sister, E. Erma McCall. A Memorial Service will be held at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 on Friday, November 23 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
