Edwina Archell Morris, 60, of Lancaster Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday January 31st, 2018. Born on May 5, 1957 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Edward McCleary and Gladys Marie Morris. She is survived by her late husband Andrew Lindsey Rose of 30 years. She has two sons Muhammad Abdullah, Saoul Abdullah, and her daughter Nashiyah DeJesus wife of Rafael DeJesus her son in law. She was survived by her step children Tujuana Miller, Jamillah Rose, and Anwar Blagmon. Edwina has 7 grandchildren, Destiny Quesada, Andrew DeJesus, Javis DeJesus, Muhammad Abdullah Jr, Massai Abdullah, Christian Laboy, and Kenzaiyah Abdullah. She has three brothers Lloyd Morris, Edward McCleary, Larry McCleary, and one sister Belinda Ann Morris. Edwina was survived by her late mother in law Priscilla Grant, and her father in law Andrew Rose, sister in law Ruby Jenkins, the late Dina Rose, her brother in law Ricardo Abdullah. She has a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, amongst many other family and friends. Edwina, known by many as "Mama Dukes", loved to spend time with her family, friends, and most of all her children. She loved to read, listen to music, and dance. Edwina graduated from University City High School in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. She loved testing her knowledge; she passed the Police exam twice and the firefighter exam once. She never became a cop or firefighter because she never had her driver's license. She never wanted to drive. Edwina was full of life, and had a tremendous amount of love in her heart. She had a smile that would light up a room. She always had the best advice, and was full of encouragement. She will truly be missed but never ever forgotten. Heaven welcomed an angel. The viewing will be 12:00PM-2:00PM on Tuesday February 6, 2018 with the funeral service beginning at 2:00PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Edwina will be laid to rest at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery following the services, 11 Greenfield Road, Lancaster Pa 17602.
