Edwin Lopez, 41, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was born on June 29, 1967, in New York City. He was a son of Vienamino and Awilda Lopez. He is survived by his wife, Rebeca (Alicea) Lopez.

Edwin was a member of New Vision Church in Lakeland, Florida. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball for the SALSA baseball organization in Lancaster.

In addition to his wife and parents, Edwin is survived by four children: Carlos, Aramis, Wilson and Amaris; two brothers, Bienamino Lopez of Lancaster, and Ramon Lopez of Florida. He was preceded in death by a twin brother.

Funeral Services will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home Inc. 414 East King St. Lancaster on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at 11:00AM with Pastor Abner Alicea officiating. Interment will follow at Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery. Viewings will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM and also on Thursday from 10-11 AM.
