Edwin L. Kiehl, 82, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, June 16. Ed was predeceased by his parents: Emanual (1965) and Anna (1981) and his wife of 50 years, Sharry (2015). Ed is survived by his siblings Emanuel Kiehl, husband of Shirley of Kansas City, MO and Ann Wyatt of Lee's Summit, MO; by his son, Jim Kiehl, husband of Nancy of Marion, MA and by his daughter Wendy, wife of Ryan Hoyer of Lititz, PA.
A devoted husband, loving dad and grandpa, Grampsy's life was deeply enriched by his grandchildren: Malorie Kiehl of Dedham, MA and Emily Kiehl of New Bedford, MA; Rebecca, Joshua, and Rachel Hoyer of Lititz.
Ed graduated from Ephrata High School in 1960 and Millersville University in 1964; he later earned a Master's degree at Millersville in 1972. He was an earth and space science teacher, junior high assistant principal, athletic director, and high school assistant principal during his 35-year tenure with the Manheim Central School District.
Ed's hobbies included traveling, singing, playing the drums, and wood carving. Ed's loving personality and witty sense of humor will be deeply missed by many friends and extended family members. His family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Moravian Manor for their wonderful care of Ed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Ed to the Moravian Benevolent Care Fund (https://www.moravianmanorcommunities.org/donate/).
His children and grandchildren invite you to a celebration of Ed's life on Friday, June 21 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM followed by a memorial service beginning at 11 AM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
