Edward A. Littler, 86, of Ronks, passed away January 8, 2024, with his family by his side. Born in Astoria, NY, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Beatrice (Rau) Littler. On Valentine's Day he and Margaret (Hulser) Littler, would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Ed was a true patriot throughout his life. At the age of 18 he joined the United States Marine Corps and served until January 1959. He will be remembered as generous and hardworking, and he continued working until he turned 80. He ran Ed's Buggy Rides for close to 40 years, and previously at Con Edison in NY, as a lineman for over 24 years. He enjoyed camping and traveling all over the country and was a die-hard New York Giants fan. In his youth, he enjoyed playing pool with his father.
He is survived by those he dedicated his life to; the wife he adored, Peggy; children: Kenneth Littler, husband of Ingrid of Charlotte, NC, Kathleen, wife of Dale Eshbach of Ronks, and Kristina, wife of Michael Rineer of Smoketown; grandchildren: Kenneth Littler Jr., Dale Eshbach (Heather), James Rineer (Olivia), Meredith Turnowchyk (Greg), Austin Littler, Bryan Eshbach, Amber Littler, Payton Hammond (Ethan), Keith Littler Jr., Shannon Rineer, and Tyler Littler (fiancé of Addison Nickle); great grandchildren: Carson, Amaya, and Paisley Hammond; a sister, Beatrice, wife of the late Frank Naughnane; as well as extended family including, Edward Hulser, Raymond Rau, and Dorothy Conforti; additional loving family and friends, including the Amish community who supported and were large contributors to Ed's success. He was preceded in passing by his son, Keith Littler.
A viewing will be held on Monday, January 15 from 4 PM – 7 PM, at the Bachman Snyder Funeral Home, 7 S. Decatur St., Strasburg, PA 17579. On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, a viewing will be held at the funeral home from 9 – 10 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 501 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA 17602, beginning at 11 AM, with Fr. Morelli as Celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
