Obituary

Edward W. Lentz, 82, of Marietta, passed away on Monday, June 6 at the Hershey Medical Center.

He was the husband of the late Stella D. Lentz, who passed away in 1991. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Daniel H. and Mae Ganoe Lentz.

Edward had worked as a research  chemist, working for E. F. Houghton Co,  Mack Trucks, and for Manheim Manufacturing and Belting from 1978 until his retirement in 1985. After his retirement, he worked as a driver for Point To Point, and as a courier for Delta Imaging.

Edward was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War as  Private First Class.

He is survived by his 3 children: Michael E. of Elizabethtown, Kathleen  A. married to Dempsie Linkous of Lititz, and Mark J. married to Jennifer Lentz of Marietta; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Nathan Lentz of Collegeville, PA and Elaine Thompson of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth W. Lentz.

Friends are invited to attend Edward's Memorial Service on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11Am at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with the Rev. Thomas McKinnon officiating. Interment to follow at the Henry Eberle Cemetery in Mount Joy. In lieu of flower, please make contributions in his memory to the Elizabethtown Public Library, 10 S. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or to Blinded Veterans Assn, 477 H Street NW, Washington, DC 20001-2694.
