Edward Grissinger Jr., 70, formerly of Hollow Rd., New Providence, died Tuesday at Conestoga View where he had been residing.

Born in Mt. Joy, he was the son of the late Edward G. and Dorothy C. Henry Grissinger.

He had worked for Southern Container in Lancaster for many years, retiring in 1998.

Edward enjoyed fishing and hunting, loved to ride motorcycles, and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by 2 sons, both of Lancaster: Joseph S. married to Stacey Black Grissinger and Jeffrey L.; 2 grandchildren: Ryan Grissinger and Crystal Goldbach, and by a great granddaughter, Tiffany Goldbach. He is also survived by 4 brothers: Levi A. married to Jeanette L. Wheary Grissinger of Lancaster, George A. married to Betty J. Murray Grissinger of Columbia, Jerry D. Grissinger fiancé of Karen Gerstung of Mt. Joy, and William D. of Bainbridge; and by 6 sisters: Ella M. married to Robert L. Janney of Lancaster, Alma Long  fiancée of Early Smith of Lancaster, Mary A.  married to Kent Heim of Columbia, Dottie H. Smith  fiancée of John Tennis of Manheim, Bertha E.  married to Tom Harris of Manheim, and Shirley A.  married to Mike Costello of Lancaster.  He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie A. and by a brother, John .

Friends will be received on Saturday from 9-10AM at the Charles Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with the funeral services to follow at 10AM. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
