Edward J. Dimmerling, 87, of 709 Emerald Drive, Lancaster, died Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Lebanon VA Hospital.

Born in Hazleton, Pa., he was the son of the late Edward A. and Katherine Christy Dimmerling. Edward was the husband of the late Virginia Kehoe Dimmerling , who died March of 2002.

Mr. Dimmerling worked at Armstrong/Kerr Glass where he was in charge of plastic cap finishing for 30 years. He retired in 1986. Edward was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion and a 3 ^rd degree Knight of Columbus #867. He enjoyed cooking, and helped with the food at the Knight of Columbus and Bingo. He serviced in the Army Air Corp during WWII.

Surviving are two sons: Patrick, husband of Judy Dimmerling of Lancaster; and Michael, husband of Dell Dimmerling of Royersford, PA; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph Street, Lancaster on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a viewing on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 am at the Church. Interment will be Thursday August 24, 2006 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Flowers will be received or contributions  may be made in Edward's memory to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph Street, Lancaster, PA 17603.
