Dr. Edward F. Brufke, 85 of Willow Street, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015. He was born in Chicago, IL to the late Edward P. and Margaret Brufke. He was married to Carol C. Brufke for over 61 years. Dr. Brufke attended Loyola University where he received a B.A. as well as two Master's degrees one in Education and one in History. He went on to attend Northwestern University where he received his Ph.D. He served in various positions throughout his career as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Assistant Superintendent and Professor. Ed proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved the symphony, opera and traveling around the world. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Dr. Jeanne Brufke Wallace of Plano, TX, Chris Ann wife of Dr. Randy S. Haluck of Lititz, PA and a son, Edward P. "Ted" Brufke of Collegeville, PA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, his sister, Margaret Thomson of Chicago, IL and her three children. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Monday, November 2, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 119 S. Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603 with The Rev. Leo M. Goodman, III as Celebrant. Interment will follow with full military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed's memory may be made to Lititz Christian School, 501 W. Lincoln Ave, Lititz, PA 17543 or St. Mary's Catholic Church, 119 S Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17603.
