Eduardo V. Vega-Mejillón, age 84, of Lancaster, passed away on October 17, 2024, at the home of his son surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 23, 1939, in Guayaquil, Ecuador to the late Fermin Vega and Hermelinda Mejillón and was the loving companion of Nicolasa Correa for many years.

Eduardo had a magnetic personality that attracted others to him and made it easy to bond and make friends. He loved listening to music and also enjoyed watching soccer and cheering for his favorite sports teams. Before emigrating to the US, he served in the Ecuadorian Army for 2 years and enjoyed fishing in his free time.

He will be sorely missed by his sons, Eduardo I. Vega, husband of Arely Rodriguez of Lititz, Israel Vega, husband of Vanessa Vega of Denver, and Fermin J. Vega, of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, and his siblings, Roberto Vega, Mercedes Vega, Francisco Vega, and Jose Vega, all of Ecuador. He was preceded in passing by his parents, and first wife of 30 years, Gloria Cartagena Vasquez.

The family will greet guests on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA, from 4 PM – 7 PM, and again on Monday, October 28, from 10 AM – 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
