Edith Williams, 91, of Willow Street, PA, passed away at Legend of Lancaster on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. She was born in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England, the daughter of the late Samuel and Maggie (Mullineaux) Poole.

Edith met her future husband John Williams as a teenager when she accepted his request to dance with her in Blackpool, England. Edith and John shared 71 years of marriage. She was the administrative and financial lead for the businesses she and John established and ran together throughout their lives in the U.S.

Prior to emigrating to the U.S. with John, she assisted her mother running the boarding house and bake shop in Blackpool. Edith was a wonderful homemaker to her family, and she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, welcoming to all friends and family.

She was a member of the British American Society, and of the Episcopalian Faith.

In addition to her husband John, Edith is survived by their daughter Elaine Williams Mazzur, wife of Richard F. of Willow Street, son David John Williams, husband of Cindy of Willow Street; 4 grandchildren, Tonya E. Stefanow, wife of Ken of Strasburg, Ashlee L. Boyce, wife of Derek of Lancaster, Tyler D. E. Williams, husband of Mary (Boyce) of Lancaster, and Hayley E. Mazzur-Johnson, wife of Zachary of Millersville, MD; and 17 great-grandchildren, Griffin, David, Emma, Miriam, Paul, Eli, Samuel, and Aslan Stefanow, Audrey, Lucy, Clare, and Cooper Boyce, Leah and Ryan Williams, and Adelai, Shepherd, and Meadow Mazzur-Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Sarah Stefanow, and 5 sisters, Alice Wright, Edna Parsons, Elsie Bowes, Margaret Best, and Nellie Oberdorf.

A viewing will take place from 10 to 11 am, followed by the funeral service at 11 am on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Steet, PA 17584. Interment will be in Creswell Cemetery
