IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edith Marie
Schrock
January 7, 2026
Edith Marie Schrock, 98, of Conestoga Township, PA, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior after a brief illness on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Fairmount Homes. Born in the small Swiss community of Kidron, Ohio, she was the youngest child of Fannie and Amos B. Amstutz. She was a graduate of La Junta Mennonite School of Nursing, La Junta, CO, and served as a Registered Nurse in various capacities spanning five decades.
She was the devoted wife of the late Harvey S. Schrock for 53 years. They lived and made many friendships and connections first in Kidron, OH; then Goshen, IN, where she got her PHT (Putting Hubby Through [College]); Conneaut Lake, PA., where she gracefully wore the mantle of pastor's wife for 13 years while raising four children; Harrisonburg, VA, where she was actively involved in the Eastern Mennonite HS and College community; and Chambersburg, PA, where she worked as a beloved home health nurse at Menno Haven Retirement Village. Edith and Harvey moved to Conestoga Township in 1982, where they were active members of New Danville Mennonite Church for many years.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by grandson Caleb Jordan and is survived by four children: Jon (Kathy) Schrock, of Conestoga Township, PA; Carol (Brad) Jordan, of Lewes, DE; Marlin Schrock, of Chambersburg, PA; and Linda (Chuck) Brown, of Lancaster, PA; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Edith was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking and cooking. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, traveling, hiking, riding bike, taking walks, writing letters and birdwatching. She was a woman of deep faith and prayer, lifting up her family, church family, and friends to the Throne of Grace on a daily basis. She loved Scripture and devoted many passages to memory. She took great joy in singing to the Lord, both at church and in her home.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Edith's funeral service at New Danville Mennonite Church, 103 Marticville Road, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
