Edelmiro "Junior" Ferrer-Ortiz, Jr., 67, of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 17, 2020. Born in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Carmen Esther Ortiz and the late Edelmiro Ferrer, Sr. He was also the loving husband of Libertad Ferrer for the past 47 years. He was also famously known as Panin.

Junior frequently found himself visiting flea markets and thrift shops. He was always on the hunt for the best deal. When he would buy something, more likely than not, it was for someone else. His greatest joy in life was bringing a smile and happiness to others. He considered himself an all year Santa Claus and the only reason he needed to give a gift was to brighten someone's day.

He will be sorely missed by his wife Libertad, sons; Edward Ortiz, Edelmiro Ferrer III, and Carlos Ferrer, a daughters; Leslie Suarez and Madeline Ferrer, grandchildren; Jonathan, Mercedes, Brooke, Joshua, Ebashaneice, Abigail "Abby", Jesayla, Josiah, Cassidy, Libertad, Deja, Calvin, Essence, Elliot, Heriberto, Eddiezayah and Eli, sisters; Eleanor and Doris Ferrer, and a brother, Orlando Ferrer, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his father Edelmiro Sr., and a brother, Juan Bautista Ferrer.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 12PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA 17602. A viewing will be held from 11AM-12PM. Interment will take place at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
