Earls W. Tolin Jr., 87, of Lititz, passed away peacefully at Landis Homes Retirement Community with his wife and family by his side on Monday, June 9, 2025. Born January 30, 1938, in Charleston, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Earls W. Sr. and Lorna Simmons Tolin. Earls was the husband of Mary Ann Algier Tolin, married 64 years.
He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster with a degree in Business. He began his insurance career at CNA in Reading before moving onto Pennsylvania BlueShield in Camp Hill in 1975, where he spent the remainder of his career. He retired in 2000 from one of its subsidiaries, Synertech, as its Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President.
He coached little league baseball, softball and basketball and had a great love for dogs. Earls found immense enjoyment in traveling to Stone Harbor, New Jersey and Alaska. Later in life, he enjoyed attending auctions. You could frequently find him on the golf course. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, # 476. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Lancaster.
Earls is survived by his wife and three children, Gary his wife Cindy and their children Julia, Jenna, and Eric; Jeffrey his companion, Michele Rutter, and his daughter Michelle Gainer; and Kristi her husband Kevin and their daughter Rachel.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 750 Greenfield Road, Lancaster, PA 17601-5842 on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Interment will be private. Those desiring may send memorial contributions in Earls' memory to Masonic Village Hospice, 98 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, or to Caring Fund at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz PA 17543.
