Earl J. Roschel, 98 of Lancaster, formerly of St. Joseph St, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Fredrick and Myrtle (Keller) Roschel. He was married to Josephine E. (Pitz) Roschel who passed away July 30, 2014. He worked as a foreman for the former Gam Manufacturing Co. retiring in 1981 after 45 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, golf and was a member of the VFW American Legion and the 8th ward club in Lancaster. Earl was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War serving aboard the USS Leyte and the USS Mobile where he was awarded 13 battle stars. Earl is survived by his son, Earl J. "Skip" Roschel, Jr., husband of Sandra of Pequea, and six grandchildren: Kristen L. Spatafora (Pietro), Kimberly K. Mause (Erik), Sherry L. DeGrace (Dan), Kelly Young, John F. Broughman, Tai Martz; 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Geraldine Roschel. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joanne M. Martz and his three younger brothers, Wayne, Eugene and Fredrick. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. Friends will be received from 10-11AM at the funeral home on Thursday. Entombment in Conestoga Memorial Park Mausoleum.
