Earl E. Geesey, Jr. "Poppy," 97, resident of Masonic Village and formerly of Millersville, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. He shared 73 years of marriage with his wife Vilma M. (Wissler) Geesey before her death in 2013.

Born in Lancaster, the son of the late Earl E. and Gladys M. (Kauffman) Geesey, he graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School.

Earl served onboard the US Navy destroyer USS Broome in the Atlantic during WWII as a Seaman 1st Class. He then was a salesman (12 yrs) for Cobia Boat Company in Sanford, FL, returned to Lancaster, and owned Paragon Tavern / Goose Tavern on Millersville Pike (18 yrs).

He was a member of Charles M. Howell Lodge #496 F.&A.M., Millersville, Zembo Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest # 27, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, life member and served as president (6 yrs) of Millersville-Manor V.F.W. Post 7294, American Legion Post #34, Lancaster, and Columbia-Middletown Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge # 1074.

Earl enjoyed being at Dewey Beach and fishing.

Earl's family includes daughter Wendy G. Blake (Russell R.) of Millersville, son Scott E. Geesey of Lewes, DE, three grandchildren, Devon, Katlin, and Savannah Blake, and two great-grandchildren, Brynn and Jace Blake. In addition to his parents and wife, Earl was predeceased by his daughters, Cathi M. Geesey and Cynthia Rende, grandson Mario Russo, and his brother Gary K. Geesey.

A Visitation will take place Monday, August 4, 2025, from 10 to 11 am, followed by Masonic Services at 11 am, followed by the Memorial Service and concluded with Military Honors, at the Charles F. Snyder & Crematory, 441 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
