Our beloved brother, Earl Hersh Eckman, Jr., 67, of Leola, passed away at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. He was born in Lancaster to the late Earl Hersh Eckman, Sr. and Florence Seifrit.

Earl first worked for Ephrata Area Rehab Services and then for the Occupational Development Center. He had also attended The Worship Center. Vegetable gardening was his enjoyment and everything he grew he sold for $1.00 each. Earl had participated in a RC airplane club, he has traveled to several parts of the U.S., he was a Betty Boop fanatic and he loved his parakeets, Tom & Jerry.

Earl is survived by his four siblings, Sandra, wife of Jesse Shenk of New Providence, Donald Eckman, husband of Anna of Stevens, Debra, wife of the late Robin Sweigart of Chesapeake, VA and Marvin Eckman, husband of Brenda of Akron; and 3 nieces and 5 nephews.

A visitation will take place from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a celebration of Earl's life at 11 AM, on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment in Memory Gardens, Ephrata, PA.
