Obituary

We lost Drew on June 25th; our lives have changed, our hearts are broken – we will never forget him and we will love him forever. He is survived by his parents, Thomas Earl and Pamela Winger Carpenter of Lititz, his son, Dylan Thomas Carpenter of Holtwood, and his maternal grandparents, William Carl Jr. and Mary Robbye Winger of Lititz. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins. Drew has been employed by Tait Towers as a Water Spider (specializing in the computerized inventory of parts & kits) for the last four years. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW in Lititz. Drew will be remembered for his quick wit, intuitive nature, and open-mindedness. He made friends easily, had a GREAT, irresistibly contagious laugh and could be an absolute bear when he woke up. He was a talented trim carpenter; he built a wine cellar and a library room for his mom. Drew had an uncanny ability to get "right to the heart of the matter" and often had a quick quip to sum it up – most of which would be unprintable here! His favorite things in the world included: playing Xbox with Dylan, music of all kinds (from Sinatra to Metallica), the Phillies, the Eagles, Duke basketball, playing poker (often with his Dad), watching "Justified" and "Love and Marriage" on TV, playing golf with his "Pop-Pop", being with friends, a big fat steak with a glass of good wine (that might surprise you!) and near the top of the list – his cat, Ziggy. While he managed to elude the institution of marriage, Drew was no stranger to love. Also, if you ever needed a helping hand or found yourself stuck in a snow bank, he was THE guy you'd hope would happen by. Relatives and friends are invited to attend an informal Memorial/Celebration of Life for Drew to be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, July 18th at the Lititz American Legion, 109 N. Broad St., Lititz. Feel free to visit the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please bring your personal stories – let's talk, laugh and love on… Drew!
