Dorothy Anne Umstead, 81, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on August 20, 2016. Born in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Eric and Catherine (McGee) Peters. She was devoted to her loving husband of 54 years, the late C. Gary Umstead, they did everything together. Dorothy is survived by her children: Denise M. Calhoun, wife of Joseph of Lancaster, PA, Gary J. Umstead, partner of Eileen Loskie of Gainesville, FL, Joanne C. Hubert, wife of Robert of Marlton, NJ, and Daniel Umstead, husband of Erica of Yardley, PA. She was the loving grandmother of Eric, Steven, Scott and Katie Calhoun, Anthony and Michael Hubert, and Madeleine and Elena Umstead. Dorothy graduated in 1952 from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia. She worked in the cafeteria at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, scrap booking, baking and spending time in Wildwood, NJ at the beach. Dorothy loved spending time with her family. The family will be receiving friends at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10-11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM following visitation at the church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
