Obituary

Dorothy L. Mariner, 89, of the Long Home Community at Highland, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Born in New Oxford on April 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Edith Rebert Livingston. Dorothy served her country as a registered nurse and Captain in the Air Force. During her tour of duty she traveled the world and saw many interesting places. Dorothy retired as a nurse from Armstrong World Industries in the Research and Development building. She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church and truly loved God. Dorothy had a love for games especially bridge for which she was a Silver Life Master Player. In her younger years she enjoyed golfing. She was a happy, upbeat person with a positive attitude who always made friends easily.

Surviving are her children: Dianne, wife of Bob Cover of Conestoga, Michael Stephens, husband of Patricia of Lancaster, and Scott Stephens, husband of Barb of Palmyra; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly, Todd, Kathleen, and Brian; 9 great grandchildren; her brother, Charles Livingston, and her companion, Marvin Burkhart.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Kurtis Cover and her siblings, Lear, Pete, Ola, and Romaine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service from Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Rd, Lancaster on Friday March 15, at 11AM with Rev. Dr. Ann Osborne officiating. Interment will be in the church memorial garden. Please omit flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Highland Presbyterian Church.
