Tossing her cane aside, Dorothy J. Lindsley, 90, went into the arms of her Lord, Thursday, August 14, 2008. Born in Gap, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Ella (Graham) Rice. Dorothy was the wife of the late Jack Lindsley who passed in 1991.

A homemaker, Dorothy enjoyed eating out and listening to special music. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by 6 children; Daughter, Jean wife of Richard McFarland of Lancaster; Son, Jack Jr. Lindsley husband of Caroline of Strasburg; Daughter, Josephine wife of Ralph Unroe of Milton, Pa; Son, William Lindsley husband of Margaret of Gettysburg, Pa; Son, Paul Mitchell Lindsley of Lancaster; And a Daughter, Gwen wife of Jack Bleacher of Willow Street. 16 grandchildren. 31 great grandchildren. 6 great great grandchildren. 2 brothers; John and Robert Rice. And 2 sisters; Lillie Axe and Margaret Hershey.

She is predeceased by 5 brothers; Richard and Thomas Winters, Jacob, Nelson, and Daniel Rice. 2 sisters; Ruth Rice and Ruby Deckman.

Dorothy's Life will be celebrated on Monday, August 18, 2008 at Hempfield United Methodist Church 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster 17601 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel in charge of arrangements 560 5100.
