Dorothy A. "Dottie" Gibbs, 87, of Lancaster, PA, died Saturday, December 15, 2012, at United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz, PA. Born in Parish, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lewis S. and Evalyn Chateau Gibbs.

She graduated from Abington High School in 1945 and went to work for Philadelphia Electric as a service consultant from 1945-1986. Dottie was very active at Jarrettown United Methodist Church since 1948, where she taught Sunday school and was a youth group counselor and women's Bible study leader. She was currently part of a women's Bible study group. She enjoyed world travel, living in Fort Pierce, FL during the winter and spending time with her family and friends.

Dottie is survived by two nieces: Debbie, wife of Robert (Robin) Evans of Lancaster, PA, and Gail, wife of Gary Porter of Brooksville, FL; and 4 nephews: Steve, husband of Michelle Gibbs of Carrollton, TX, David, husband of Jill Nichols of Virginia Beach, VA, Guy, husband of Beth Gibbs of Lansdale and Gary, husband of Jenny Gibbs of Warminster, PA. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Franklin, Ralph and Gerald Gibbs and two sisters: Evalyn Nichols and Eleanor Beltz. She is also survived by many grandnephews and nieces.

Memorial Services will be held 11 am, Friday, December 28, 2012, at Jarrettown U.M. Church, Dresher, PA. Interment in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA.
