Dorothy S. "Dottie" Brown, age 92, passed away on October 11, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lottie (Michalski) Shimko.

After completing high school, Dottie went on to work Bell Atlantic AT&T as a telephone operator and retired as a supervisor. She was an avid animal lover and after retiring, she volunteered at the Humane League and ASPCA as well as the North Museum.

Dottie was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is also preceded in death by her companion, George Labinsky.
