Dorothy R. Dolk, 88, of Lancaster and formerly of Washington, D.C. passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Heart of Lancaster. Born in Sparta, IL she was the daughter of the late Russell W. and Alberta (West) Rauch.

She was married to the late Ralph W. Dolk who passed away on Oct. 4, 1994. They were married on Aug. 19, 1944.

Dorothy was raised by her grandparents, Emil and Bertha Rauch in St. Louis, MO. Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life and formerly worked at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. She volunteered at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. and helped coach softball at the church. She enjoyed caring and helping her family and friends. She attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lancaster.

Dorothy is survived by her children: A son, Robert E. Dolk, of Lancaster, 2 daughters, Ruth Ann Spaid, wife of Gerald, of Olney, MD, Mary C. D'Agostino, wife of Joseph, of Pocomoke City, MD. Eight Grandchildren: Maureen Metcalfe, Greg, Nathan, Aaron, and Rachel Dolk, Carol and Nicole Spaid, Alex D'Agostino. Two Great-grandchildren: Derek and Lauren Metcalf. Also surviving a brother, Robert Rauch, of St. Louis, MO and a sister, Alice Sebenaler, of La Plata, MD.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12noon on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with The Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. A visitation with the family will be at the church from 11:30-12PM on Thursday. Interment will be in The Arlington National Cemetery.
