Dorothy May Brant, 86, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at ManorCare in Lancaster. Born in Syracuse, NY she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Mabel (Deitz) Brant. Dorothy was a graduate of Lititz High School and the Philadelphia Bible Institute (Cairn University). She worked in the office at the former Hamilton Watch Co. for many years. Dorothy was also involved in Girl Scouts for many years and enjoyed bowling, sewing and traveling. She was a member of Calvary Church in Lancaster where she taught the junior girls Sunday school class for many years. Dorothy is survived by her sister-in-law, Marion Brant of Willow Street; nieces, Laurel Kish of St. Petersburg, FL, Nancy Brant of Bogota, Colombia and her cousin Carol Ferris and Charles Musser of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Frederick Brant formerly of Willow Street, PA and her sister, Marian Brant, formerly of Lititz, PA. A Graveside Service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, 1918 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602. Dorothy's family extends a warm note of thanks and appreciation to ManorCare Nursing Home for the compassionate care provided to her over the past few years.
