Doris L. Thomas, 70, of Lancaster passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her home. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert and Olive Mae (Hunsinger) Rubincan.

She was a nursing assistant for many years for the former county home and other nursing homes such as Colonial Hall and Lancashire Hall.

Doris loved to go fishing with her close friends, playing bingo and loved dressing up for Halloween often making her own costumes. She also loved animals.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Toni wife of Eric McFarland and May Olive Rubincan, partner of Natalie Stotz, both of Lancaster. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Burt Graham, Gen Ashby, Mary Toomey; a brother, Ronald Rubincan, 2 stepsisters, Betty Muckel, Louise Brooks and stepbrother, Robert Hunsinger, Jr. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Rubincan, Jr.

Funeral Services will be at 1PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Brightside Baptist Church, 515 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603. A viewing will be held at the church from 11-1PM. Interment in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doris's memory may be made to ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd St, New York, NY 10128-6804.
