Doris L. "Rainy" Schlegelmilch, 81, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Louis J. Schlegelmilch, who passed away in 1985. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Paris and Anna Mary Balmer Markley.

Doris had worked at The Long Home for 11 years, assisting in the kitchen, until her retirement in 1997.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Doris is survived by her children: Cindy Schlegelmilch of New Holland, Louis R. married to Robin Schlegelmilch of Clearwater, FL, Daniel M., Sue married to Timothy Mays of Mountville and Ann Marie Porter of Mountville; her many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sisters Helen Kauffman of Willow Street, Nancy Moore of Ephrata, and Anna Mary Weaver of Marietta; and by her brothers Robert  Markley of Willow Street, Eugene Markley of Lancaster and Gerald Markley of McClure, PA. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Harold Markley.

Friends will received on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 10-11AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 558 W. Walnut St., Lancaster, PA 17603, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM, the Rev. Michael Messner as Celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
