IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris L.
“Nanny” Brosey
June 28, 2023
Doris L. "Nanny" Brosey, 98, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Magnolias of Lancaster.
Born in Coatsville, she was the daughter of the late Emily Rice. She was the devoted wife to Bruce A. Brosey for 55 years.
Doris was a member of the 8th Ward Club. She was known to most as Nanny because of the children she cared for over the years. One of her mottos in life was "don't let any grass grow under your feet." She was a firm believer in keeping yourself busy and to always keep moving or you would grow old. She was quite the athlete growing up spending her days on the dance floor as a tap dancer. She enjoyed going on family vacations to the beach, specifically Ocean City Maryland and Dewey Beach in Delaware. She was quite the knitter and would knit hats for the babies at Women's and Babies Hospital. She loved dogs, especially Boston Terriers. She had three of her own. But, the one thing she loved most of all was her family and the time she spent with them.
In addition to her husband, Bruce, she is survived by her daughter, Dottie Jones; grandchildren, Jeff (Rose) Jones, and Shannon (Jon) Kreider; great-grandchildren, Allison (Phil) Scribani, Andrew Jones, Zachary Kreider, and Emma Kreider; and great-great grandson, Vincent Scribani.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Samuel C. Mimm; her sisters, Eleanor Powers and Geraldine Dann; and brother, Morris Townsley.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
