Doris L. Kiehl, age 105, of Flemington PA, went to be with her Lord on April 21, 2023, at St. Anne's Retirement Community in Columbia, PA.
Born June 4, 1917, in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of Henry S. Shaffer and Inez Trude Shaffer of DuBois. She was a graduate of DuBois High School, class of 1935, and on November 11, 1937, she married Stewart A. Kiehl of Sigel, PA. He preceded her in death.
Doris was a homemaker, wife and mother and had also been employed by JC Penney and Underwood Greetings. She was a member of Flemington United Methodist Church and was active in numerous church activities, contributing her cooking and crafts talents. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework, sewing, and reading as eyesight permitted, and liked to cook and bake to entertain friends and family members.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Nancy Garrett of DuBois, PA, Deborah Reigle of Elizabethtown, PA, five grandchildren, Kevin Tomb of Chesapeake, VA, Kris Macauley of East Petersburg, PA, Kitty Deets of Oil City, PA, Kit Macauley of Big Run, PA, and Kerry DeFelice of Brookville, PA. A granddaughter Beckysue Moose of Manassas, VA preceded her in death. Also surviving are 12 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
A service celebrating her life will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven, PA at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to Flemington Goodwill Hose Ambulance Association, Flemington, PA 17745.
