Doreen May Scott, 94, of Washington Boro, formerly of Lancashire Hall, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at Brereton Manor. Born in Scotland, she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Murphy) McGhee. Doreen was the wife of the late Francis James "Jimmy" Scott who died in 2005. Doreen was a member of Millersville Community United Methodist Church. She was the retired owner and operator of the Jonestown KOA Campground in Lebanon, PA. She proudly served in the British Navy during WWII. Doreen grew up in New Castle, England and moved to the United States at the age of 30 with her husband and two daughters. She enjoyed knitting, tending to her rose garden, and making prayer shawls for her church friends. Doreen also enjoyed her time while residing in Florida, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. Doreen is survived by her four loving grandchildren; three granddaughters, Laura Walters wife of Bruce, Heather Noll, wife of David both of Lancaster, Holly Lewis, wife of Samuel of Mount Joy, and a grandson, Keith Ruth, of Lancaster. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren. In addition to her loving husband Jimmy, Doreen was preceded in death by two daughters; Gillian Kulp who passed away in 2008 and Judy Ruth who passed away in 2016. Following a private cremation at the Snyder Crematory Chapel, burial will take place in England.
