Obituary

Donald R. Lenton, 87, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Maple Farm Nursing Center, following a brief illness. Don was born in Philadelphia, to the late Charles T. and Frances (Burger) Lenton, Sr. He was the loving husband of the late Elizabeth (Leseberg) Lenton. Don graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for Hamilton Technology Inc., until his retirement. Don was of the Christian Faith. One of his many attributes was his generosity to many. His generosity extended to animals as well. Don loved animals of all kinds and demonstrated this love through his donations to many organizations devoted to the care and protection of animals. Don also loved photography, History (particularly the Civil War and World War I and II), studying the Presidents, solving puzzles of all kinds, listening to both Classical music and Operas, and enjoyed going to flower shows. In addition to his parents and wife, Don was preceded in death by his brother, Charles T. Lenton, Jr. A celebration of Don's life will take place from 10AM – 12PM on Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Don's name be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Hwy. E., Lancaster, PA 17602.
