Donald E. Lenig, 92, born in Mt Pleasant Mills, PA, died Sunday, February 26 at Lancaster General Hospital after sustaining injuries in an accident at his home. Donald was a partner at Rice & Weidman Construction Co and worked for Benchmark Construction Co Inc. full time into his late 70's then on special projects through his 80's. He taught a young Project Management class about three years ago, so he was still helping Benchmark at 90. An avid hunter and skier, Donald loved the outdoors. He was a long time member and one time President of the Willow Street Lions Club. He also served as President of the Lancaster Ski Club and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. A man of integrity who enthusiastically enjoyed life and deeply loved his family, Donald will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Betty (Ludwig); daughter, Darlene Cover of Harrisburg; son, Alan Lenig of Selma, IN; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. A service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 3, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, 530 Milton Rd, Lancaster with Pastor John Jewers officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
