Donald Heege, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Jamesburg, NJ he was the son of the late Lester L. Heege and the late Mae (Hogancamp) Kuciej. He was married to Candis M. Heege for over 39 years. Donald worked as a manufacturing representative for Pactiv for many years and most recently started his own brokerage and packaging company. He was very active and enjoyed gardening, fishing and was a huge golfer. He recorded a hole-in-one at Foxchase Golf course during an outing. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his loving wife, Candis he is survived by his children: Donald and Deborah Heege of Bethel CT, Allison Sweeney of Taneytown, MD, and a son, Tim Heege, companion of Katie of Lancaster. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Emily and Evan; a brother, John Heege husband of Ann and a sister, Gloria Dowling both of NJ. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two siblings. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don's memory may be made to Disabled Veterans of America.
