Donald E. Evert Sr., 78, of Lancaster, passed away suddenly Monday, June 17, 2013 in his residence.

Born in Columbia County, he was the son of the late Wibur and Sadie (Baker) Evert.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Donald loved to be outside, especially at Long's Park where he loved to feed the squirrels with his grandchildren, to whom he was lovingly known as "Pop Pop".

He is survived by his son, Donald Evert Jr. and his wife Lynne of Lancaster; a brother, Wilbert Evert Jr. of Harrisburg; and two grandchildren:  Keira and Aiden Evert.  Donald was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Evert, and a son, Douglas Evert.
