Obituary

Dolores M. Kane, 79, of Neffsville and formerly of Lancaster City passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Hospice of Mount Joy. She was born in Lancaster to the late Carmen DeGregorio and Helen (Angelini) DeGregorio Wiggins.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore "Ted" R. Kane of sixty years. They were married on September 2, 1950.

Dolores was a member of St. James Catholic Church and former long time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. At St. Anthony's, Dolores was a Eucharistic Minister and was involved in many Parish activities. At St. James, she was active with "Light of Christ". She graduated from St. Anthony's Grade School and Lancaster Catholic High School in 1949.

She was a homemaker most of her life and also worked at the former Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital.

Dolores was involved in numerous community groups and the local "Swing Through" square dancing group. She and her husband shared their home with many Veterans and other members of the community needing care.

Dolores will always be remembered by her daughters for teaching them how to sew and crochet.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four daughters, Christine M. DiCola, of Conshohocken, Susan T., wife of Barry Kelly, of Shoemakersville, Stephanie E. Bootie, of Sydney, Australia, April P. wife of George Geus, of Lancaster, eight grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a sister Carmelita, wife of Thomas Keiser, of Landisville. She was preceded in death by step-father Robert Wiggins, and two brothers, Anthony and Ralph DeGregorio.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from St. James Catholic Church 505 Woodcrest Ave. Lititz, PA 17543 at 10:30am with The Rev. James O'Blaney as Celebrant. Viewings will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pk. on Friday from 7-9pm and again on Saturday from 9-10am. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 8:30pm at Snyder's. Final farewell and commendation will take place in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.
