Dolores Huxta, 89, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at her home with her loving husband, Joseph at her side. Born in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Rudan) and Adam Rachkoskie. She was the beloved wife to Joseph for over 71 years. Dolores was full of life, and wherever music was playing, you could find her dancing. She loved to cook traditional polish and Ukrainian food for her family, and she was best known for her pierogies, halushki and halupki. Above all, she was devoted to her faith and her family. She spent many years volunteering at St Anne's church, and was an active member for over 60 years. She loved doting on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Gramam. In addition to her husband, Dolores is survived by her 5 children: Richard Huxta (Lin) of Leesburg, VA, Joseph Huxta (Patricia) of Macungie, PA, David Huxta (Susie) of Lancaster, PA, Mark Huxta (Carol) of Downington, PA and Marianne Talbot (James) of Lititz, PA; 14 grandchildren: Kristie, Jennifer, Kellye, Laurie, Joseph, Ryan, Beth, Alison, Kristin, Casey, Rebecca, Stephen, Marissa and Jessica; 15 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way. She was predeceased by her siblings: John Rachkoskie, Marion Yunginger, and Joseph Rudan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Dolores on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 929 N Duke St, Lancaster, PA 17602, with Fr. Tri M. Luong officiating. Burial will be in St. Joe New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman, PA. Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:45PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org .
