IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dolores J.
(Darrenkamp) Souders
December 29, 2025
Dolores J. (Darrenkamp) Souders, 89, of Mount Joy, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude (Brazil) and James Darrenkamp. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Souders, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion.
A graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Dolores remained deeply rooted in her faith throughout her life as a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her faith guided her daily life and shaped the quiet strength and kindness she shared with others.
Dolores dedicated more than 40 years of service as an Administrative Assistant with Armstrong World Industries before retiring. She took great pride in her work ethic, loyalty, and the relationships she built over the years.
Family was always at the heart of Dolores's life. She cherished time spent reading, doing counted cross stitch, enjoying special moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and relaxing at her place at the shore—a setting that brought her peace and joy. She also greatly enjoyed her frequent visits to the Willow Street Restaurant, where she became friends with many of the employees and was always greeted with warmth and familiarity.
Known for her attention to detail and personal style, Dolores was rarely without her fingernails beautifully and festively painted—a small but memorable reflection of her cheerful spirit.
She is survived by her children: Brenda Bair (Douglas) of Lancaster, James Souders (Connie) of Millersville, and Stephanie Wagner (Thomas) of Wrightsville. She was a loving grandmother to Nathan Bair; Drew Dilley (Tessa); Ian Dilley (Aubree); Jenna Cooper (Chad); and Chloe Wagner, and a proud great-grandmother to Leo, Margot, Harper and Josie Ann Dilley, and Quincy and Evelyn Cooper. She is also survived by her sister, Carole Anne McHugh, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. Family and friends will be received from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
