Richard Boss Sarver died unexpectedly Sunday November 20th. Known by many as Dick those closest to him knew him as Uncle Dick. Uncle Dick had that instant ability to endear himself to all he met over his lifetime. He attended Northland College in Ashland, WI. Dick made many friends at Northland but 3 in particular remained best friends throughout his life: Doug Venell of Acton, ME. Chip Snyder of Lititz, PA and Richard Sterling of Port Royal, PA and Dick's roommate for the past 8 years. Dick took away from Northland a deep appreciation for the out of doors and everything natural. This led to Dick's career in agriculture, the growing and harvesting of fruits flowers and shrubs in Maine, Connecticut and New Hampshire. An industry known for foreign labor, Dick was a quick study learning the different languages of South and Central Americans putting him a position of management and respected by all that worked under him.
Uncle Dick leaves behind his best friend and sister Cynthia (Cid) Adams and husband Bo of York, Maine, sister Lisa Reis and husband Eric of Ramona, CA and
brother Scott Sarver and wife Molly of Manhattan Beach, CA.
Five nieces and nephews who adored their true Uncle Dick are Courtney and Wyatt Adams, Kara and Ryan Reis, and Thomas Sarver.
Uncle Dick was one of the nicest, easy going, straightforward, and loving men on the planet. He loved his friends and family more than anything and all he would ask for is that you remember him fondly, share a laugh in remembrance, plant a tree or shrub on his behalf and finally hoist a frosty Budweiser in his honor.
