It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane L. Hawthorne, 69, at her home peacefully on January 12, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends, after battling her recurring cancer.

Diane grew up in Lancaster County and established her own business with beautifully stenciled and pierced lampshades which she displayed at craft shows and later opened a shop in Intercourse, PA with her sister and crafter friends. After retiring from the shop, she enjoyed showing and running with her Springer Spaniels in agility trials. She was a member of the Lancaster Kennel Club and served as a committee member for the Agility. Her other passions included helping others, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and learning new things. Her true love was her dogs.

Loved and missed by her loving husband, William L. Hawthorne with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Robert W. Hagmann and Estella M. Hagmann (Fry) and the sister of the late Debra A. Parrish. Diane was loved by her family and friends and her biggest joy was her three nieces and their children.

The family will honor her with a private service. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, contributions can be made to Lancaster Kennel Club or Hospice.
