IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane
Butler
February 10, 2018
Diane Butler entered into eternity to be with her Lord this past Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2018, at the age of 67. She died at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital due to complications from her previous liver transplant. Diane spent her early life living in Philadelphia before moving to Hatboro, PA. where she resided until her marriage in 1975. Diane was a 1968 graduate of Hatboro- Horsham High School where she was involved in many extra curricular activities in sports as well being a cheerleader and school mascot. She has lived in Lancaster since 1975- living in Willow Street since 1979. Diane was an elementary school teacher after graduating from the former Philadelphia College of Bible (now Cairn University) until starting a family. Diane is survived by her husband, Carl J. Butler Jr. of Willow Street and her son, Jeffrey L. Butler of Castle Rock, CO. She is also survived by her brother Fred Ness of Mohnton, PA, her sister Joanne Hawthorne of Sarasota, FL, as well as four nieces- Jamie Drenning, Tyler Conway, Katie Ness, and Morgan Ness and one nephew- Craig Ness. Diane was very active in children's ministries over the years including considerable work in Junior Church programs and a church outreach for 10 years at the Oak Bottom, Quarryville Community building. Diane's spiritual gift was in evangelizing children. She was so proud of her son Jeff, who is an eighth grade math teacher and growing into a compassionate man. He maintained frequent contact and visits with mom and dad. She enjoyed going to the beach and was able to go this past summer with her brother and some of his family. She enjoyed going to the 70% + off sales at the Bon-Ton and getting a chocolate mocha at Sheetz on her way home. Diane was loved by many and fought a hard battle through her illness. The family is especially thankful for the many visits and support thru her illness and passing for the pastoral staff at Grace Community Church of Willow Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to the Grace Community Church- Growing Grace building fund in care of Grace Community Church of Willow Street, 212 Peach Bottom Road, Willow Street, PA 17584.
